Breaking News -- 2018!
Or maybe not breaking news, since we know that Umar Johnson lies, lies and lies some more. Well here's the latest, courtesy of a gentleman named Reverend Gerald Palmer.
It seems that the Association of Black Psychologists, of which Umar Johnson was never a member, but at some point claimed he was a member, will be sending a cease and desist letter to Umar Johnson.
I, for one, say "Thank the Almighty!"
I'm not a psychologist but I cannot image that any organization that has anything to do with psychology and/or mental health, would advocate some of the things Umar Johnson has said and done, under the guise of being a psychologist, a therapist, a child therapist, and a person who states that he flies all over the country, doing "clinical work," while claiming to "save his people."
However, it was known that Umar Johnson had been using the Association of Black Psychologists as a resource. TrueBlackAnonymous didn't know, however, that he was claiming to be a member. It's good to know that the Association of Black Psychologists is taking a stand against Umar Johnson's perpetration, his lack of integrity, and his unethical behavior.
To quote the response from an email that a legitimate member of the Association of Black Psychologists received:

Thank you for contacting us to express concern about Umar Johnson. We have received numerous complaints about him over the past two (2) years. Mr. Johnson is not a member of our organization, nor has he ever been a member. He is also not affiliated with us in any manner. (emphasis mine)Our Attorney is issuing a "Cease and Desist" order to him next week (1/22/2018), calling for him to discontinue the use of our name. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to take any other action against him, but I do know that he is facing numerous ethical charges from his local state board.
It's good to know that there are entities and people who will behave ethically.
