Don't Believe the Hype

Take a bit of advice from Public Enemy, please.

Don't believe the hype!

What hype am I talking about?

The idea the Umar Johnson has actually acquired a building, in my view, is a bunch of hype.

Umar Johnson claims the has bought a building, or a set of buildings located at 610 - 611 East 17th Street in Wilmington, DE.

Okay

So, let's look at the records.

Exhibit One is the records of recent sales in New Castle County, Wilmington, DE

Exhibit One - Recent real estate sales in New Castle County, Wilmington, DE

Let's look at Exhibit Two below where we see that the last purchase of this property was in 2017.

Exhibit Two - Record of Property Details including Sale History
Please look at Exhibit Three below to see who the owner of record is as of today, which appears to be K12 Management.

Exhibit Three -- Record of the current owner of the property

The exhibit below shows the crime statistics around the area of the building.

Exhibit Four -- Crime, environmental hazards, sex offenders in the area

Note that there is approximately 270 sex offenders within one mile of the school.

Exhibit Five -- Description of the property

Further, Umar Johnson has not shown one slip of paper to the public regarding a deed, a lease agreement, a cashier's check or a payment plan He also has not named a realtor, a real estate company or an attorney.  He also hasn't named anyone who is, or could be, on his team, including a contractor, a team of educators who can develop an age/grade appropriate curriculum, a plumbing company, an HVACR company, a company who would provide the 90% vegan meals he's talking about, in addition to not accounting for one red cent of the money people donated.

The property is worth about $1.2 million.  Umar Johnson has claimed to have $750,000.  With tax liens and back child support, how on earth would Umar Johnson even be able to finance the remaining portion of the price, especially with tax liens and back child support?

Why doesn't he have a picture of the building on his website?

By the way, good people, please demand automatic refunds from GoFundMe if you donated to Umar Johnson's bogus campaign.

Moving on...

I also wonder how Umar Johnson thinks he has a right to demand, as a condition of employment, that women wear their hair natural.  He would never win a court case regarding employment harassment or discrimination as he has recorded himself saying this nonsense.  In fact, there was so much blithering nonsense in the video in which he announced the school, I simply don't have the wherewithal to write about it now.

I'll point out one more thing in that crazed rant of a video.  How is it that Umar Johnson needs the help of his followers to find a place to live in Wilmington, DE?  After all, didn't he just (supposedly) buy a property?  Wouldn't that mean he has a real estate agent?  So why not ask the real estate agent to help him find a place to live?

I'll leave that up to you to do the math on that one.

But in any event, I don't believe that Umar Johnson owns this building(s) unless or until I see official record of it.

After all, it's Umar Johnson, the same man who gets caught in one ridiculous lie after another.  So we know that there's some stink in the game.

    1. Yes, I believe it is owned by Douglass Frederick & Garvey Marcus something or another. And, it's zoned for light manufacturing.

    1. I’m from Wilmington, DE born and raised 30 years and I know there will be no school there.

It’s still boarded up and looks exactly the same. The picture he put up has to be photo shopped. I drop my cuz off all the time down a block driving directly pass there coming from the Eastside.

This is on the north side down bottom where if you ask me is right around the corner from one of the worst hoods in Wilmington the whole strip of Vandever Ave is wild especially if you end up northeast in Riverside Projects where I’m from. It’s even crazier going the opposite direction up Concord Ave.

The fact that he just continues to lie should show something is seriously wrong with this guy. Seriously he needs help!
