Umar Johnnson's International Foolery
Now, my good African people, all over the world, please pay attention because Umar's foolery has no known border of any kind, neither behaviorally nor geographically.
I know this because I had the fortune of chatting with a gentleman from the United Kingdom, by way of Ghana, named Emmanuel Amevor.
Mr. Amevor has had a history with Umar Johnson, starting in about 2008 or 2009 when he used to run an arts and cultural center in London. A young lady rented a hall in the cultural center for an event involving Anthony Browder and Umar Johnson.
Subsequently, a group invited Umar Johnson to speak and the group rented one of the halls in the cultural center for that event. Umar was promoting his book at that time.
Mr. Amevor said, to yours truly, "Well, he (Umar) gave a good talk as usual. As you know, Umar talks a good talk. He's got the gift of the gab."
Mr. Amevor hosted him again. At this point, Umar was raising funds in the United Kingdom for the school. People were donating for the school, although Mr. Amevor isn't sure how much he collected from the event in the UK.
"I wasn't too impressed with the way he went about it, so I didn't pitch in personally. But, a lot of people did. He used to get a good audience here. But after the 'Conscious Stripper' business, we have seen less of him," said Mr. Amevor.
I asked Mr. Amevor if it was true that Umar Johnson promised to build a school in Ghana. Mr. Amevor said, "Yes, I heard him personally say he has designs of building a school in Ghana."
Hmmm....sounds similar to the school he promised in Lawrenceville, VA, as well as in Suriname.
"Umar had a good following here in the UK. We all believed in him, but unfortunately, he had let a lot of us down. My only problem with him was that it was his way or the highway"
Mr. Amevor further said, "Umar has no organization behind him. I was interested in working with him when I met him. He gives his phone number to just about any and every one, but you never get him when you phone him. Neither will he reply to emails. So, I went off him straight away."
There, again in the United Kingdom, similarly to Holland and everywhere he goes, there is no accountability for the promises Umar makes or for the money he's collected from our people all over the world.
Mr. Amevor, "Umar adopts a scatter-gun approach to working with people. No structure. He comes to the UK when he feels like and each time he gets different people working with. But his stock has certainly fallen this time. No wonder we have not seen him for some time."
In addition to that, Mr. Amevor states that, "his rant at Sara Suten Seti recently hasn't helped."
Mr. Amevor says that he had always given Umar the benefit of the doubt. "But to hear him say that St. Paul's school has been sold on the Roland Martin show, which turns out to be untrue, according to other reports" was the proverbial last straw.
Mr. Amevor, for one, wishes to have nothing more to do with Umar Johnson. And honestly, I can't say that I blame him.
So, let me see...

So, let me see...
- Umar went to the United Kingdom to raise funds for a school that looks like will never come to fruition.
- There is still no documentation on the school, fundraising efforts, or plans.
- Umar has no organizational structure behind him.
- Umar and his rantings, name-calling, lying, and general disrespect of the very people who supported him has been noted in the UK, the US and, I'm sure, other places around the globe.
- Umar's refusal to be held accountable for the donations for the school may well be against the law.
