Umar Johnson Is Bad For Business...

Umar Johnson is bad for business.  Let me say it again.  Umar Johnson is bad for business.  Want the proof?  Okay, here we go!

Exhibit One -- St. Paul's College

Umar Johnson came breezing down to Lawrenceville, VA in order to appear as though he was ready to purchase St. Paul's College.  This was supposed to be a boon to St. Paul's College, who was closing due to debt.  Of course, none of what Umar Johnson said was the truth.  St. Paul's College was taken though all sorts of changes in the meantime, including having Umar Johnson lie on national television saying that the college was sold, when it was not.

Goodness...

Exhibit Two -- Motley's Auction House

Motley's Auction House was dealing the Umar Johnson.  Specifically, Umar Johnson submitted a bid to Motley's to purchase St. Paul's College.  There was no money, no financing arranged and no closing date offered.  The school is still for sale as of the time that Umar Johnson went on the Roland Martin show and lied about the school being sold to a white developer.

In the meantime, Motley's has had to field various calls, visits, etc., from everyone from scam artists to folks who were just downright nosey.  In addition, now because Umar Johnson said on a national television show that the property was sold Motley's is having difficulty actually selling the property.  All of this because of Umar Johnson and his nonsense.

Exhibit Three -- Boyce Watkins

After Boyce Watkins talked Umar and his school up and offered to help him draft a business plan, Umar's responses included insults and memes.  When Maria Lloyd, using the Boyce Watkins platform, simply suggested that folks have every right to ask Umar Johnson about the donation money for the school, the mess was on.

EXHIBIT 3-B

Words still escape me on this one.

Exhibit Four -- A Former Supporter From Holland

A former Umar Johnson supporter from Holland had the misfortune of believing Umar Johnson's intention of building a school for Black boys.  In their professional life, the former supporter is a real estate professional who used their contacts to obtain a loan for Umar Johnson for FDMG, in the amount of $5 million, a 4.5% interest rate, a 20-year term to pay it with a 6-month grace period.  Umar turned it down, resulting in damaging the former supporter's professional relationships.   As I understand it, it has taken the former Umar Johnson supporter some time to repair their business relationship and some may not be repaired, once again, all because of Umar Johnson and his mess.

How utterly pathetic of Umar.

Exhibit Five -- Chantall Beaty

Chantall Beaty offered the services of her multinational firm to help Umar Johnson create a structure for organizing and financing FDMG.  Did I mention that the services Ms. Beaty offered Umar Johnson was for FREE?  She tried many times to get in contact with Umar Johnson.  The first contact Ms. Beaty had with Umar Johnson was a meme comparing her to Miss Piggy and subsequently using that meme to advertise a speaking engagement at a church.  All of this served to make Ms. Beaty look bad with her multinational company, simply for offering to help Umar Johnson with FDMG FOR FREE.

EXHIBIT 5-A

All this for offering to help Umar Johnson, again, for FREE ?  Damn...

Exhibit Six-- Roland Martin

Roland Martin has had Umar Johnson on his show a number of times.  On one occasion, Umar, as a substitute host for Roland Martin on his radio program, lied about being celibate.  Umar Johnson, most recently went on the Roland Martin show, on TVOne, lied on Motleys, called another guest on the show a "coon," called the interview an "ambush," memed Roland Martin and used an offensive drawing implying that Roland Martin is a "coon" as an advertisement for a speaking engagement.

Have mercy.

Exhibit Seven -- CitizensTV Producer Mike Nice

A gentleman who calls himself Mike Nice on a public access show in New Haven, CT had Umar Johnson on his show on October 12, 2017.  Umar Johnson acted a blasted fool on the show by, among other things, telling Mike Nice that people can know information about the progress of FDMG based on how much money they donate.  In other words, a person who donates $10,000 can know more than a person who donates $5,000.  If a donor gave $10, $20, $30 or $50 dollars, what happens with the money, paraphrase Umar Johnson, ain't yo' business.

As a result of the interview Umar Johnson did with Mike Nice from CitizensTV, some of the comments on their Facebook page bordered on lunacy.  In addition, CitizensTV, as I understand it, was bombarded by phone calls complaining about the event being postponed by Umar Johnson and not getting their money back.

Wow.

Exhibit Eight -- Balcony Banquet Facility

The Balcony Banquet Facility, in Hamden, CT, was to be the site of an event featuring Umar Johnson.  The event was scheduled for October 19, 2017.  Umar Johnson was on the aforementioned Mike Nice show on CitizensTV advertising the event on October 12, 2017.  However, the event was cancelled on the Balcony Banquet Facility on or around the same day Umar appeared on the show.  Umar then listed on his Twitter account that the event in Hamden, CT was postponed, and as far as we know, has yet to be rescheduled.  Further, Umar Johnson implied that the Balcony Banquet Facility wasn't safe for women and children.  The Balcony Banquet Facility was also, as I understand it, bombarded with phone calls from people who bought tickets to the event that was postponed and the money was not refunded.

It would be understood if the management and staff of the Balcony Banquet Facility wouldn't appreciate the implication that their facility is unsafe.

Craziness...

Exhibit Nine -- Eventbrite

Because Umar Johnson had events that were listed with nonrefundable tickets and then postpone or cancel the events, Eventbrite decided not to deal with Umar Johnson anymore.

Well...

Exhibit Ten -- Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives

Ken Morris, the co-founder and president of the Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives, along with Tarence Bailey, has had to draft letters on behalf of the organization, the Bailey/Douglass family and to various media outlets.  The experience of the organization getting calls and emails from people asking about Umar Johnson and the donation money prompted them to have to take time from their daily operations to address the issue with Umar Johnson, the FDMG school and the donation money.  They also had to reiterate several times that Umar Johnson is not listed in their family archives and is not a verified member of the Bailey/Douglass family.

Is this how Umar Johnson, the supposed psychologist who offers help with conflict resolution, treats his "family?"

Conclusion

Based on the evidence presented, it is safe to say that dealing with Umar Johnson is bad for business.  And to quote the Youtuber, Anti Afro Svengalis...BUYER BEWARE!
