This man made a video to reach out to his eldest son.
This man hasn't spoken to his eldest son in quite some time.
This man has attempted to reach out his son on several occasions to no avail.
This man may not have seen his own grandchildren, who are the children of the son he can't reach.
Who is the son?
Umar Johnson.
Who is the father?
Jamal Johnson.
Mr. Jamal Johnson, quite correctly, disagrees with his son about calling people names, demeaning people, and presenting conjecture and theory as facts. He made a video after Umar's Seti rant because he was concerned about his son and the video is the only way he could at least attempt to reach him.
Mr. Jamal Johnson isn't aligning himself with anyone to go against his own son. Mr. Jamal Johnson isn't cahooting with Umar's "haters."
And, Mr. Jamal Johnson doesn't appreciate being called a "coon," especially by his own son.
Can't blame Mr. Johnson much for that.
So if Umar Johnson name calls his own father, it's not so hard to imagine how he would disrespect Baba Dick Gregory, Anthony Browder, Professor James Small, or Dr. Leonard Jefffries. Remember, Umar threatened to, and I quote "King King Conscious they asses."
Mr. Johnson made one interesting point. He says that the people who follow Umar Johnson are a reflection of Umar Johnson, and vice versa. So, when Umar Johnson name calls people, they feel justified in doing the same. When Umar Johnson disrespects Black women, he is condoning others to follow suit.
And we see the evidence of this, don't we?
So who is Umar Johnson to be lecturing anyone about relationships, families, raising and educating children, or about conflict resolution? Who is Umar Johnson to call ANYONE "trifling?"
Yep, he called us trifling. Remember?
I hear the pain and the frustration in the voice of Mr. Jamal Johnson. In my personal opinion, it seems to me that Mr. Johnson sees his son on a collusion course, wants to stop it, but can't. What do you do when someone you love is on a course of self-destruction? Well, you try to reach out. And perhaps you pray that your efforts will pay off.
And in Mr. Jamal Johnson's case, I hope so, too.
