Location, Location, Location...
It's all about location, location, location, Folks! So, let's look at a specific location in Philadelphia, PA, at 350 Willow Grove Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19118, which was the supposed to have been the location of the 'office' of the Frederick Douglass and Marcus Garvey RBG International Academy, Inc.
Someone in our network actually took a few minutes to find out where, exactly, this location is. Please see below.
This appears to be an apartment building, specifically, the Chestnut Hill Apartments.
Hmmm....
I have to wonder something. Is this the office that Umar Johnson claims he did his therapeutic work? If so, that would be against the law, since it has been said that any psychologist/counselor/therapist who has a home office would have to have his or her office separate and apart from what is called "ordinary living spaces".
What does that mean?
I suppose it means that if a psychologist/counselor/therapist has a home office, the patient or client shouldn't have to walk through the living room, dining room, a bedroom, or other living space to go to the bathroom. And, I'd imagine that bathroom shouldn't be the same bathroom that the psychologist/counselor/therapist uses to take care of his/her bathroom needs. In addition, the entrance has to be separate from the entrance that the psychologist/counselor/therapist and his/her family uses.
I further suppose that the privacy of the client as well as the privacy of the mental health provider would have to be considered. I mean, really, who would even want near strangers, let alone near strangers who have some mental issues, traipsing through their living spaces, not to mention that of their families?
How can a home office work for a therapist work in an apartment?
Umar, if this is the case, you would have to do some strong explaining.
Please consider the list from an article entitled Things to Consider When Working from Home.
