How To Recognize a Conman in Business and Life

From:   https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/20140828141437-77938080-how-to-recognize-a-social-predator-in-business-and-life by Claudia Moscovici Unlike Alfred Hitchcock’s  Psycho , psychopaths don’t usually come across as socially awkward, reclusive and bizarre.  On the contrary, they often seem charming, outgoing and normal. That’s a big part of their lure, or “mask of sanity.” Consequently, it’s very important that we inform ourselves about the symptoms of psychopathy in order to protect ourselves from these dangerous individuals. The main experts on psychopathy, Hervey Cleckley, Robert Hare and Martha Stout provide, essentially, the same list of personality traits to describe psychopaths. They state that such individuals exhibit  superficial charm and intelligence . They use these qualities to attract people and to control them. Contrary to other kinds of pathological individuals, psychopaths don’t experience delusions or manifest any “other signs of irrational thinking.” For

The Problem with "Dr" Umar Johnson

Image
From:   http://urbanintellectuals.com/2016/01/03/problem-doctor-umar/ by Reneegede - January 3, 2016 Last time I had contact with anyone closest to Dr Umar Johnson, we (myself and several other constituents that don't need to be mentioned here) had formed a group of Black and concerned people trying to gather together to get the word out about saving St. Paul's college in Lawrenceville, Virginia. One particular young lady was highly upset about it and had notified me that it was about to close. Then, it was already down to administrative services, a few students that needed to finish up and graduate, and an advocacy group that was left on campus. The President of St. Paul's, Dr. Millard "PETE" Stith Jr., was contacted by us and so was one of the program advocates with an on-site office who had also been working to save the school.  We wanted details and we wanted to now if there was anything else that could be done to save it, or at least preserve

African-American Boarding Schools -- Laurinburg Institute

Image
Just a bit of FYI... According to HBCUmoney.com , there are four remaining African-American boarding schools left in the United States.  One is Laurinburg Institute in Scotland County, North Carolina.  Let's use the tuition plans at Laurinburg Institute as an example of what I want to show. Tuition at Laurinburg Institute is as follows: Plan A - One annual payment at the beginning of the school year Entrance Tuition $10,000.00 Housing $3,000.00 Food Service $1,800.00 *Initial Supply Deposit $200.00 Total Plan A  $15,000.00 So that means the parents of a child would have to have all $15,000 up front at the beginning of the school year. Plan B - Two Semi-Annual payments: One at the beginning of each semester Entrance Tuition $10,000.00 Housing $3,000.00 Food Service  $1,800.00 Carrying Cost   $1,097.00 *Initial Supply Deposit $200.00 Total

How Much Does Boarding School Cost?

From:  http://www.collegebound.net/content/article/how-much-does-boarding-school-cost-/18833/ by CB Staff Education is an investment, and boarding school is no exception. But just how big an investment are we talking? Boarding school tuition and fees The average annual boarding school tuition is $38,850 (emphasis added). Of course, there are some schools with tuition as low as $10,000 and others as high as $60,000. Most boarding school tuition costs include room and board, but some don't - check with the schools you're considering to be sure your food and shelter are covered. And don't forget to factor books, travel, personal expenses, and miscellaneous fees into your boarding school finances, too. Boarding school financial aid Before panic sets in, remember that the "sticker price" is often not the final price of boarding school. The average boarding school financial aid grant is $17,000, and 30 percent of students are on financial aid. Some boardi

Amy Euphemia Jacques-Garvey

Amy Euphemia Jacques-Garvey (1896-1973), a Black feminist and liberation movement leader, and wife of Marcus Garvey wrote in 1923: Be not discouraged, Black women of the world, but push forward, regardless of the lack of appreciation shown you.  A race must be saved, a country redeemed, and unless you strengthen the leadership of vacillating Black men (emphasis added), we will remain marking time until we will be forced to subserviency or extermination. Mrs. Jacques-Garvey also said: The black woman is determined not to be the private property and pawn of any man.  She is tired of being an object for gratification, exploitation, manipulation, or assault . In 1925, Mrs. Jacques-Garvey said: We are becoming so impatient that we are getting in the front ranks, and serve notice on the world that we will brush aside the halting, cowardly Negro men, and with prayer on our lips and arms prepared for any fray, we will press on and on until victory is over.  She also said:

Umar Johnson -- Garveyite????

Image
Well, let's consider this.  Umar Johnson has said that he is the "foremost Pan-Africanist in the world at this particular time and with being that I am almost also the foremost Garveyite in the world." Really, Umar?  How do you know?  Has anyone surveyed all the Pan-Africanists and they voted you the foremost one?  And when was the latest survey of Garveyites performed and published? I can't tell from the way you talk about and denigrate Black women.  Examples include: Referring to women who disagree with you as " feminazis " Calling a Black woman you chose to have sex with as a "tramp," a "hoe," and a "maggot" Telling a highly questionable story about how a Black woman you chose to have sex with caused you to lose a $1 million donation from an invisible NBA player Inferring that a woman, like Maria Lloyd, can't have her own thoughts and suggesting that she was "put up" to attacking you, even though he

Starting a Private School

If someone, or a group of people, wanted to start a school, the steps below need to be taken.  Ask yourself if you see any evidence that Umar has done any of these steps appropriately. From:   http://privateschool.about.com/od/forparentsonly/ss/startaschool.htm#showall Sta rting A School Are your S chool Founders prepared for the cha llenge?  The mechanics of starting a school can be challenging.  When a group of founders decides to open a school, they need to make sure that their decision is based on sound data and that they have a reasonable understanding of the cost s and strategies needed to successfully open their school .  In today's complicated market, the need to work smarter and be ready for opening day is critical.  There is never a second chance to make a first impression.  With proper planning, founders can be prepared to start the school of their dreams and manage costs and p r oject development effectively, establishing a school for g enerations to come.
