Umar and His Lies...

*SHAKING MY HEAD*

Umar has stated that he is related to Frederick Douglass through his brother Stephen Henry Bailey. According to Umar Johnson, Stephen Henry Bailey is the cousin of Frederick Douglass because their mothers were sisters.

Umar also has said that Frederick Douglass and Stephen Henry Bailey were brothers by virtue of having the same father, a white slaveholder named Aaron Anthony.

BUT...

If one listens to Tarence Bailey, a verified relative of Frederick Douglass, who was born and raised in Talbot County, Maryland, he says that it was rumored that Aaron Anthony was the father of Frederick Douglass.  Frederick Douglass did not know for a fact that Aaron Anthony was his father, since (NEWSFLASH) rumors are not facts.

Further, Mr. Bailey approached the Talbot County Historical Society, in an attempt to get in touch with the descendants or relatives of Aaron Anthony in order to get DNA testing done to either prove or disprove the family relationship between the Baileys and the Anthonys.  The Anthony family has refused.  They want nothing to do with Frederick Douglass.

Start at about 13 minutes and go until about 15 minutes and 41 seconds

If one reads the book called the Narrative in the Life of Frederick Douglass, within the first ten pages of the book, Frederick Douglass himself said, TWICE, that he didn't know for sure who his father was.  So how would Umar Johnson know?

But this one isn't all on Umar.  This is on us as a collective.  If one or more of his so-called supporters or followers would have simply sat down, opened the book and read it, Umar would have been busted in his lie a long time ago!  So, perhaps, he wouldn't have upwards of $700,000 of Black folks money that still hasn't been accounted for -- money that could have been used for real projects.

BUT...

You know what they say.  If you want to hide something from Black people, put it in a book.

*SHAKING MY HEAD*

One thing that can be said about Umar is that he is very clever.  He knows that he's dealing with a group of people who refuse to read, who refuse to think for themselves and who are caught up in a savior/messiah complex.

SO...

When are we, collectively, going to really wake up, stand up and get the Deke O'Malleys of the community out of the way?
