Who is Shoemake?

Umar Johnson said on one of his Facebook Live videos, as he was railing against his OWN FATHER, that he was born Jermaine Shoemake, and that he was going to change his name BACK to Jermaine Shoemake as retaliation against his father.

Okay.

Since Umar said himself that his original last name is Shoemake, it surely opens the door to investigate the Bailey and Wayman family trees, both to which Umar claims a relationship.

So, let's do so.

According to a source in the Bailey family, there isn't anyone named Shoemake on the Bailey family tree.  In addition, my source informed me that there is no one named Shoemake on the Wayman family tree.

Another point is that there is no one in the Bailey or Wayman family tree who has converted to Islam and changed his or her name.  Also, there are no Cuban immigrants on the Bailey or Wayman family trees.

And since Umar claims relationships to the Baileys and the Waymans through his father, wouldn't repudiating his father also, by extension, repudiate his relationships to the Baileys and the Waymans?  That is, if his claims are even true.

Further, if one converts to Islam and decides to change their name, why would a new convert to Islam change their last name from Shoemake to Johnson?

Even more, the Bailey family and the Wayman family both have records dating back to the 1600s.  Based on this evidence, Umar seems to have inserted himself and some of his relatives, into the Bailey and Wayman family trees to create a false lineage for himself in order to get money and notoriety from the unsuspecting.

The proof is in the lies he told.  First, he said the slave master raped Harriet Bailey to produce Frederick.  Then the slave master supposed raped Harriet's sister, which would have produced Stephen Bailey.  However, Frederick, as he states in his narrative, did not know who his father was.  Furthermore, none of Frederick's siblings knew who their father was.

The Baileys have had family reunions for over 60 years not more than 2 hours walk from Holm Hill, also known as Tuckahoe, where Frederick Douglass was raised with his grandmother, Betsy Bailey.  Not once has Umar Johnson or anyone from his family attended.  No one in the Bailey family knows Umar Johnson or anyone related to Umar Johnson.

All of this is from my confidential source, who is a member of both the Wayman and Bailey familes.

Make if it what you will.

  1. In terms of Umar's kinsmanship he mentioned that his Bailey lineage is on his father's side and not his mother's. Remember his father's last name is Johnson. His mother's last name is Shoemake.

    1. Mr. Jamal Johnson took a DNA test and the results of the DNA test shows that he is NOT related to any verified descendants or relatives of Frederick Douglass.
