Consciousness...of Guilt

Umar Johnson has no earthly idea who and what he's messing with.

...Or maybe he does.

After all, Umar Johnson has been attempting to erase his Internet footprint since being brought under the scrutiny of the State Department of Psychology of Pennsylvania.  Now, why, why, why would Umar Johnson be doing this?

Oh, I get it now!

It's called consciousness of guilt.  According to US Legal,

Evidentiary rules allow a prosecutor to introduce testimony that tends to show that the defendants (emphasis mine) actions prove he knew he was guilty (at least of something). This is sometimes referred to as “consciousness of guilt”.  For example, such evidence may include actions the defendant took to “cover up” his alleged crime.
So, TrueBlackAnonymous submits that Umar Johnson knows he's guilty because his videos are coming down at furious speed and because his social media accounts have been shut down.  This can be taken as actions Umar Johnson took to "cover up" his crime or wrongdoing.

Why?

Because he knows good and well he's guilty of perpetrating as a clinical psychologist, a therapist and a child therapist, among other titles, and there is/was plenty of evidence to suggest this.

And, guess what?

Consciousness of guilt is evidence.  If it's clear that someone is removing evidence, i.e. shutting down Twitter and Facebook accounts, and deleting YouTube videos, indicates that they are guilty...

...Or he or she LOOKS awfully guilty.

Because if Umar isn't guilty, why bother shutting down accounts and removing videos?

Bare in mind that once something is posted on social media, it never really goes away, even if you take it down.  Take a look at the alphanumeric soup after youtu.be below.

Now, I'm no expert coder, but I know enough to know that the letters and numbers represent a code giving the video's location on YouTube's servers.  It's like the address of the video.

I hope this is an appropriate analogy to explain how this world wide web/social media thing works.  If I'm incorrect, please, any computer wizards or IT specialists correct me.  Thank you.

Here goes.

Let's say you move into a house.  The house has an address.  Let's say you live in the house for 5 years.  Then you move.  Does the house's address change because you moved?

Exactly.

It's the same with the Internet and social media.

So even if someone, like Umar Johnson, who clearly has consciousness of guilt, suspends his social media accounts and removes YouTube videos, it doesn't mean that the evidence cannot be found.

And guess what else?

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube/Google can all be subpoenaed by the state of Pennsylvania, including the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology.

Umar, Umar, Umar...
