Another Umarian Money Grab...

For a mere $10/month, you can avail yourself of Umar Johnson's parent advocate group.
Umar Johnson is proposing to go back to doing his infamous Tuesday morning telephone calls that he used to do for free. Now he's charging $10 per month to answer educational and mental health questions. Isn't this the same Tuesday morning telephone calls, one of which got him in a disagreement with a father from Chicago? Besides, it's not clear that Umar Johnson is even qualified to answer these questions...especially since he resigned from a school in January.
This tells me a couple of things. First, this move tells me that Umar is now desperate for money now that his GoFundMe campaign was shut down. Secondly, the State Board of Psychology has not made their decision public regarding his advertising himself as a psychologist, therapist, etc.
Below are questions that I have.
- Does Umar Johnson have professional liability insurance, also known as malpractice insurance?
- Does Umar Johnson keep files on people who call in which would include signing forms related to HIPAA?
- If Umar Johnson is legitimate, why does he only take credit/debit cards and PayPal payments, and not payments from insurance companies?
Now I'm no expert but it seems to me that a good place to start is with your local school district. Perhaps it's a good idea to find out who the superintendent of your school district is and request a meeting or request information from him or her. There could very well be resources available to you from your state.
If you want to find out what the federal government has to offer you, perhaps, you can to to the Department of Education and look up IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). Maybe you can also try to look up OSEP (Office of Special Education Programs). There is also OSERS (Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services).
Please avail yourselves of these resources. At least have a look to see if the materials are appropriate to your situation. After all, these are free resources.
If anyone out there knows of any other resources, please share. Also, if anyone wants to share appropriate resources, if the ones I found aren't correct, I welcome your input.
Please remember that Umar Johnson's National Independent Black Parent Association has no filing status. Please also remember that Umar Johnson's FDMG Academy lost its 501(c)(4) status after three years of not filing the appropriate forms to report what happened to the donation money.
My conclusion?
There is no reason to throw good money after bad which is what you would be doing if you join his parent advocacy group. Umar Johnson has fleeced our communities for too long. The price is too high. It's time to stop funding the overgrown, flim-flamming, scamming, welfare case known as Umar Johnson

In order for Umar to be conducting any school psychologist work, he needs to be employed currently by a school: "...school psychologists must be employed as school psychologists in a public school in order to provide private practice services." Found on this webiste: https://www.nasponline.org/standards-and-certification/state-school-psychology-credentialing-requirements/states/pennsylvania. Paypay will be informed of this information. He cannot practice outside privately if he is not employed at a school currently.
ReplyDeleteNot to mention that helping the kids is not he intends to do anyway. He is going to take your money and try to convince the single mothers to have sex with him. He is a slimebag. Protect your money! Protect your health! Run!
