Yes or No...

Image
Have you ever been to therapy?  Have you ever spoken with a therapist to find out how therapy works? Well, I have had the fortune to speak with people, Black people , who are professionals in the field of psychology, who teach, research, counsel, and perform therapy.  And I asked them some questions. The first question I asked is if it's appropriate for a client or potential client to ask the therapist for proof of his or her education, certifications, credentials, training, etc. The answer is yes. Secondly, I asked if it is appropriate for a therapist to use social media to demean, name-call, attempt to publicly shame or embarrass people, disrespect people who ask him for his or her credentials, who have a professional disagreement with him or her, or people with whom he or she has a personal disagreement. The answer is no. Thirdly, I asked if it's ethical for a therapist or psychologist to record and post counseling sessions on social media. The answer is no. ...

Umar STILL Harassing Dead People

Image
Well, now, here we go again.  Umar Johnson stays harassing dead people. This time, it is our Queen Mother, our Warrior Queen, Araminta 'Minty' Ross, better known to most of us as Harriet Tubman. Umar went to the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Center in Maryland, on the Eastern Shore.  And, well, he didn't like it at all! He criticized, among other things, the size of the space, the fact that they called Harriet Tubman an American hero, after not paying her a soldier's pension, and the activities that they had which included something about slave children's games. Now, I am not mad at anyone having an opinion.  Goodness knows I'm not, because I sure do have my opinions. But, I wonder if Umar even bothered to learn how the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Center even came to be, he would have run directly into Mrs. Patricia Ross Hawkins , a grand niece of our Moses, the Great Lady herself. In addition, the Bailey family (Frederick Douglas...

The Tragedies of Black Masculinity

Image
From: http://www.theroot.com/the-tragedies-of-black-masculinity-1794410625 Jonathan P. Huggins, Ed.D. | April 19, 2017 Steve Stephens (Steve Stephens via Facebook); Cedric Anderson (Cedric Anderson via Facebook) I remember the feeling that I had last week when I saw the text come in from a friend back home. The text read, "Y'all hear about North Park Elementary?"  All I could do was think about the feeling I had in the pit of my stomach when I got the same text about the terrorist attack that took place in my hometown of San Bernardino, Calif., back in 2015. My friend followed up the first text with more information about how gunman Cedric Anderson went into his estranged wife's elementary school classroom and took not only her life but also those of others in the crossfire and, later, his own.  Almost one week later to the day, Steve Stephens from Cleveland was on the run after taking the life of Robert Godwin, Sr.  Stephens had gone live on Faceboo...

What He Doin' Wit' Da Money?

Hello, Lights! I'm so happy that more and more people are waking up to the nonsense that Umar Johnson is doing. Why? Because what Umar is doing is sooooo counterproductive to what we need to do as a people. There is more to being a leader than looking good, saying stuff that people want to hear, using scare tactics and offering as a solution is giving them money. Check it out.  There are at least two ghost towns for sale, somewhere in these United States, all under $350,000. Yes, I said entire towns , not just schools. Thank you, brother Abiyah Yasharahia, for pulling a sister's coat. This information led me to do some research.  I found the a website that lists three ghost towns, two of them in the United States for under $500,000. So, if Umar has anywhere from $360,000 to $700,000, he could buy an ENTIRE town. Dangitall, Umar could be Mayor of an entire town! Further, Brother Abiyah lets us know that there is an abandoned school in Birmingham, Alaba...

Job Titles?

Image
Sometimes, there are others who can explain things to us better than the one who writes this blog.  Please thank "Hillary for Prison" for this information. Going back to at least 2009, Umar Johnson has continuously, and unequivocally referred to himself as a Clinical Psychologist, Psychologist and Child Therapist. He's made these statements in print interviews and specifically himself in scores of videos all over the internet. This is one of several recent videos where Umar is backed into a corner, forced to retract his long-standing bald face lie.  Not to insult anyone's intelligence but I'm going to take the time to explain how Umar played fast and loose, taking advantage of our community and their lack of clarity on job titles. School Psychologists are "certified," not licensed (with exception of CA) Nonetheless, no school psychologists are authorized to diagnose/treat mental health disorders, provide therapy, render clinical opinions, write...

Welcome to the Black Leadership 5-Ring-Circus:

From:  http://www.aframnews.com/welcome-to-the-black-leadership-5-ring-circus/ One of my absolute favorite quotes by our dear Brother Malcolm X is his characterization of ' The March on Washington ' as " a circus, with clowns and all ." I have always found humor in Malcolm's summation of ' The March on Washington ' because it conveys how flustered and frustrated our dear brother must have been at witnessing his people mobilize once again to beg white folk for something that they truly could have done for themselves.  Although I make humor of this moment, the truth of the matter is that there really isn't much humor to be found in what appears to be a habitual pattern of Black leaders leading their people astray. Unfortunately for today's African-American community, if the March on Washington could be characterized as " a circus with clowns and all ," today's ' movement ' should be termed a 5-ring-circus with every type...
