The Result of Generational Curses

As a result of listening to the latest interview that Lenon Honor had with Lenae Stacks, I can now see that at least some of  Umar Johnson's behavior could well be the results of generational curses, mostly from his father, Jamal Johnson.

What are Generational Curses

Generational curses can be defined as negative patterns, behaviors, or misfortunes that can be passed down through families from one generation to the next.  There are different perspectives on generational curses, ;includes psychological/social perspective and epigenetics.

Psychological/Social

Some view generational curses expressed psychological/social behaviors as a result of environmental and social factors that are passed down through generations.

Epigenetics

There's scientific research that suggest that trauma and negative experiences can change gene expression and can be a biological mechanism for passing down certain traits and/or tendencies.

Expressions of Generational Curses

Below is a short list of how generational curses are expressed.  Do you think any of these behaviors or life states reflect what we see in Umar Johnson?
  1. Addictions, including alcoholism and/or drug addiction
  2. Relationship patterns, including difficulty forming healthy relationships, repeated patterns of infidelity or abuse
  3. Financial struggles, including consistent poverty, debt, lack of financial stability
  4. Mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions
And as much as I can have some empathy for Umar Johnson, and as much as I can wonder what happened to Jamal Johnson to cause him to allegedly behave the way he did toward his own children, none of this is an excuse for what is happening now with Umar Johnson and his lies, schemes, scams, predatory behavior, and financial malfeasance.

The entire Black community shouldn't have to suffer for the generational curse(s) of one family.

Without a doubt, we know that Umar Johnson has NO BUSINESS being around children, conceivably, including his own children.

One last thing.  In my opinion, Umar Johnson, and perhaps his whole family, need deep, long-term therapy.
