Release the Kraken

Well, it seems that when TBA takes a hiatus, things just go nuts.

Things seem to go particularly nuts when Dempsey Spears posts videos defending himself and/or Umar Johnson.

Okay.

When I picked up on things after my hiatus, it seems that the Reverend Gerald Palmer reported Dempsey Spears to something called Open Path Collective after Dempsey Spears, also known as D Derell, allegedly made some derogatory statements about LBGT folks.

The organization, Open Path Collective, has a mission stated as follows:

Mission and Vision of Open Path Collective

In partnership with licensed mental health clinicians in private practice throughout the fifty states, Open Path Psychotherapy Collective provides middle and lower-income level individuals, couples, families, and children with access to affordable psychotherapy and mental health education services.
The phrase "In partnership with licensed mental health clinicians" is is problematic for Dempsey for a couple of reasons:

  1. Dempsey Spears is a licensed professional counselor who advertises himself as LBGT-friendly.
  2. Dempsey Spears, under his alias of D Derell, allegedly recorded himself, showing his face, saying negative and derogatory things about LBGT folk.
  3. Dempsey Spears posted these recordings on YouTube.
  4. YouTube is publicly accessible to anyone with an Internet connection.
  5. Anyone who saw and heard Dempsey Spears, AKA D Derell, saying derogatory things about folks he counsels, can report to anyone they see fit.

Well...

Reverend Gerald Palmer reported Dempsey Spears'/D Derell's activities on YouTube to Open Path Collective with whom Dempsey Spears had a professional relationship as part of their network of licensed mental health clinicians.  Open Path Collective didn't like what they saw and they removed Dempsey Spears from their network of licensed mental health clinicians.

Okay.

Dempsey Spears didn't like that one bit.  He got on YouTube and posted the video below.

In this video, he calls the Reverend Gerald Palmer:
  1. Down-low gay
  2. Deceiver of the cloth
  3. Pretending to be one thing at home but in real life, he's something else (How would Dempsey Spears know this)?
  4. A man who isn't happy with who he really is (How would Dempsey Spears know this)?
  5. Cape, support and cuddles those who have the same issues as he does
  6. Hates the fact that he loves the same sex (How would Dempsey Spears know this)?
  7. Hiding who he really is by marrying and having children
  8. Didn't enjoy sex with his wife (How would Dempsey Spears know this)?
  9. Hates being Black (How would Dempsey Spears know this)?
  10. Lusts after Umar Johnson and is upset because Umar Johnson won't "engage" with him
  11. "Turned on" by Dempsey Spears and "wants" him
TBA is dead on arrival at this whole diatribe.

But it gets better, or worse, depending on your perspective.

First, a few caveats:
  1. TBA doesn't know if the Reverend Gerald Palmer is gay or not.
  2. TBA doesn't know if the Reverend Gerald Palmer is on the down-low or not
  3. TBA doesn't know anything about the love life or sex life of the Reverend Gerald Palmer
  4. TBA doesn't care about the sexual orientation, sex life or love life of the Reverend Gerald Palmer
Why?

Because it's none of my business.

Back to the issue at hand.

I admit that I watch some of Dempsey Spears videos.  When I saw that he made a video about my fellow Anti Fraud Warrior, the Reverend Gerald Palmer, I got interested and listened. Through the YouTube chat feature, I asked Dempsey Spears about the wisdom of speaking about the Reverend in the manner described above, especially if he doesn't know for a fact and has no actual proof of what he said, given his position as a licensed professional counselor.

In fact, TBA stated:
Do you think it's wise to label someone a "down-low" gay man without actual evidence? Do you think it is wise to say that Rev Palmer hates being a Black man? What is your proof? You're saying a lot of things that can lead you down a road you may not want to go down. Be careful, Sir, lest you make a crucial mistake.
Dempsey Spears' reaction?
oooh don't worry you are next!!!!!!!!!!ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

So I say...
